Industrial Conveying says it new Airola and Airchain are able to completely automate loading and unloading of trailers and can also be customised to suit individual applications.

Part of the Airlift Roller Suite, the new product aims to allow operators to completely customise for transport companies, logistics specialists and general dock requirements where forklifts and manual labour need to be phased out.

Customising one or both of these areas allows Industrial Conveying to configure an automated result with excellent energy efficiency running multiple zones independently on the one trailer or plane floor.

The main advantage gained is that an entire trailer or aircraft can be operated with different sections of its floor ‘live’ at any one time, so that while one part of the floor is loading or unloading, other sections of the floor can be loading or unloading too.

There is no need for personnel to enter the floor space during the process as Airlift Roller technology basically allows the truck or plane to load itself. All controls are plc-based and can be fully automatic or semi automatic.

Airola has a pneumatic roller track floor system for installation in trucks, trailers and aircraft and eliminates the need for a forklift to load or unload.

When activated, Airola provides a low profile, above-floor cushioned conveying system with a high tolerance to overload and impact.

It is also available as a deactivated system with a pneumatic roller track floor system that retracts to allow cargo to rest securely on the floor after loading then raises to quickly unload.

The load is firmly supported along the entire length during transit to provide safe cargo handling with a minimum of delay.

The other unit is Airchain, a powered trailer bed conveyor system that provides automation for bulk and palletised cargo.
