SupplyChain Review (SCR) will unveil an exciting new design in its February issue and a raft of new features in direct response to current readership research.

We’re not surprised new research confirms SupplyChain Review’s position as Australia’s leading source of news and information for high-level logistics and supply chain management professionals.

It’s what we thought all along, given our unrivalled line-up of special features and a news website which has enjoyed a 500 percent increase in traffic since last year.

But it’s always nice to have your efforts validated with figures.

The findings reveal our readership is highly educated and predominantly high-level managers. Seventy seven percent have a degree, post-graduate/masters degree or diploma.

Forty nine percent are supply chain or logistics managers, operations and general managers or CEOs/managing directors; while a further 37 percent are procurement, warehousing, transport, HR, IT, health and safety, sales/marketing, and inventory managers.

The majority of our readers are also large employers: 74 percent employ more than 50 staff, including half with in excess of 300 staff.

They are big revenue generators: 51 percent report yearly sales of over $50 million, including 36 percent in excess of $300 million.

Importantly, a significant number are key purchasers. Between 30 and 42 percent are involved in purchasing decisions in the key areas of transport services, forklifts and materials handling equipment, racking and storage, education and training, health and safety products, and consultancy services.

Not surprisingly, they are frequent flyers. Thirty two percent travel interstate for business at least monthly and a further 34 percent several times a year.

And they love SCR.

Almost 50 percent of respondents do not read MHD magazine and 50 percent do not read Logistics & Materials Handling (LMH) magazine.

Additionally, 84 percent read SCR’s daily news website SupplyChainReview.com.au and bi-weekly Chainmail e-newsletter, while just 30 percent visit LMH’s LogisticsMagazine.com.au and 29 percent visit MHD’s TandLnews.com.au.

With an average 59 minutes typically spent reading a copy of SCR magazine, readers rate its content very highly. More than 80 percent rate SCR’s News, Integrated Supply Chain and Materials Handling News ‘good’, ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’; while more than 70 percent rate its Transport Management and Procurement & Inventory features as ‘good’, ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’.

Sixty-seven percent rate the quality and relevance of SCR’s web content as ‘good’, ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’; and 65 percent rate the quality and relevance of SCR’s newsletter content as ‘good’.

And they want more, especially in the areas of professional development and materials handling equipment news and reviews.

In response to this feedback, SCR this month launches an expanded Materials Handling Product News & Reviews section incorporating exclusive on-the-road tests of new forklifts. Light commercial vehicle tests will also feature in subsequent editions.

It also incorporates a new Professional Development section highlighting the latest executive appointments and positions vacant, as well as recruitment, retention, and education and training features.

SCR’s special features, containing exclusive data provided by industry-leading partners or developed by in-house experts, will continue, enhanced.

See The Modern Warehouse in the December issue, followed by ForkTruckSearch, Australia’s Top 50 Supply Chains, Transport & Logistics Technology Directory, Who’s Who in Contract Distribution Directory, and the Career & Salary Guide.

And from the next edition, in February 2012, SCR will unveil a fresh new design to reflect its cutting-edge position in the market.

With an audited circulation of 7,136 copies every issue, we believe our relationships count. SCR is the only industry magazine distributed to members of leading industry bodies, including the Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia (SCLAA) and the Australian Logistics Council (ALC).

As editor, I welcome your further feedback and input and thank you for your support in 2011. Our team looks forward to taking you forward into another exciting year of SupplyChain Review.
